12:20, I think we see the same doctor.
I had pain during intercourse and severe pains when menstruating. My OB/GYN found a decent sized cyst on my ovary and found endometriosis when he did the laporoscopy. I believe he said he cauterized what endometriosis he saw, and once I healed, I felt much better and the pain was gone. However, 8 years later I have another large cyst (plus a smaller one that ruptured) and my endometriosis most likely grew back. Have you gone to the OB/GYN yet? |
. Who do you recommend to clean this scar tissue? I am having the same problem |

I agree with the PPs who suggested endo. As the PP above states though, endo is only confirmed through a laparoscopy (out patient surgery). I've had three surgeries for it, and it's no fun. Definitely a lot of pelvic pain, worse during period, though irregular periods, and some pain during inter course as PP. I used to go to Dr. William Cooper who did one of my laparoscopy, and I switched OBs when pregnant because Cooper no longer delivered by the time I was pregnant. |
It sounds like IC (interstitial cystitis) to me, based on the urinary issues. IC often gets worse during your period b/c of hormonal fluctuations. But also agree that the word "pelvic pain" made me think endometriosis. Either way, OP, get to a good uro-gynecologist (in case it is IC) and a good gynecologist (in case it is something else). And do some reading on both conditions - it may help you articulate your symptoms better. |
Oh - and if it is IC, one thing to look into: Cysta-Q. I'm totally not into natural therapies or medicating things that can't be cured, but this made me a believer - at least for this particular remedy. Try looking it up on IC boards and on customer review places like Amazon. |
It could be sciatic endometrosis.
Or endometrosis "anywhere". The menstral lining can sometimes bind to other internal organs such as ovaries, fallopian tubes, but also on nerves, bladder, pr any other organ outside the uterus. You did mention IBS so it could be GI endometrosis - essentially your having a period in your lower GI tract. Most doc. don't recognize this since the symptoms are non specifc and can be easily associated with "umbrella" diagnoses such as "oh it's just IBS". Just something to think about and maybe pursue with a doctor |
if you had pubic symphysis diastasis during pregnancy it can lead to pain while menstrating.

It sounds to me like endometriosis. Menstrual tissue migrates or grows outside of the uterus. Each month when you get your period, this tissue responds to your hormones the same way the tissue on the lining of your uterus does - by trying to get out! This results in severe pain.
Haven't read all the replies but you should def. talk to someone specializing in this. Nowadays it can be easily treated laporoscopically (sp). |
