Colleges Still Accepting Fall Applications

All those schools are academic backwaters. Especially Penn State.

The peak year for high school graduates was 2011. There has been decline in numbers since then. Also, the graduating classes are more diverse (many more hispanics). Community colleges are booming.

Reed is the opposite of an academic backwater. But anyways it was only accepting transfer admissions and now it isn't anymore. Only took a week or so to fill the spots.

And yet my DCs SLAC, which is ranked in the 40s so not top tier, is overenrolled by at least 10% for next year. Way more kids apparently accepted offers than expected. It seems like for every story of a challenge there are others that are exceeding expectations.

That's what happens when school charges 60k/year and put millions in PR.

Yup, that's my SLAC. Now 70K a year and not worth it. I'm not giving any more money because I know it goes into the glossy brochures and the army of admissions officers.
