PP here, just thought of something else. Pack a baby float for the pool that she can ride around in. The ones that they sold down there were overpriced and you have a better selection up here. |
Some of the early posts in this thread are just ridiculous. People hear "violence in Mexico" and all of a sudden the entire country is out of control.
People read the warnings before you comment and scare people off. |
OP - are you staying at a western-style resort?
|
I was only concerned because I read about a warning issued to college students to be cautious or not to go to Mexico for SB. Didn't mean to offend, I was just concerned. Perhaps I am misinformed, but my concern is not ridiculous. Be safe, have fun, OP. |
I would just be concerned about water/food/cleanliness/safety in Mexico. And I say that as someone who has lived there. Regardless of the violence, it's just not the first place I'd pick with an infant/toddler.
That said, in response to OP, on the carseat issue, I wouldn't bring it if your main mode of transport will be a cab. I doubt cabs in Mexico are properly equipped to strap in a car seat (hell, they often aren't here). If you're in a resort area, they will have most of the food/toiletry items for purchase that we have here. If I were taking a 9-month-old though, I would bring jarred food from home. I know not everyone who goes to Mexico gets sick, but why risk it with a baby? As for sunscreen and other items to bring, just pack as if for any other beach vacation (search the archives). |
OP here. We're going to Playa del Carmen and then Tulum for a wedding. Staying in pretty nice resorts, but i'll still be cautious.
Thanks for all advice! |
