Would you be opposed to me weeding for you? Shared bed conundrum (not that kind of bed)

+1. As long as you don't 'weed out' something that I planted by mistake.

I think it's fine for the shared bed...but if I was in your situation I'd just ring my neighbors doorbell and say "Hey guys - I just started my yardwork season and I just love doing this stuff...I noticed we share a bed over there and just wanted to make sure if you were okay with me weeding the whole thing while I'm at it?" Because it IS a shared bed, legally you both own half and are responsible for half so it's just respectful and neighborly to not be passive aggressive (or what COULD come off as such) and sneaky and just do it. Instead just say Hi and have a quick chat about it, I'm sure that's the better solution.

Be discrete though - you don't want to get a weed lady reputation!

Ha, thanks!
OP here, I just was out there and surreptitiously reached my hand over the "line" and got some big weeds out, I feel better already.
I had dark oversized sunglasses on so I'm sure I was as stealthy as I thought I was

Thanks all!

If I were your neighbor, I would love you so much if you just said, "Please feel free to say no if this feels intrusive, but I LOVE gardening and I'm working on the beds between our property lines - would you be okay with me weeding your side of the bed while I'm doing mine? It's no trouble at all and I really enjoy doing it."

If that goes well, I bet one day you could build up to doing plantings on their side. I'm a swamped FTM and first time homeowner and I don't even know what is a weed and what is not, seriously.

Awesome neighbor!

I'd love if you did that. I'd tell you to be happy to plant anything that won't attract bees too. Herbs, tomatoes, strawberries, flowers, whatever.

A neighbor weeded our poison ivy once. We were so grateful. I would take all the weeding help I can get.

Our neighbor often asks us if we would like to borrow his lawnmower. My husband thinks it is a dig about the quality of our mowing (we have one of those manual push mowers). However, once he actually mowed for us, and we really appreciated it.

I have a problem where my neighbors don't weed at all and the weeds creep into my yard through the fence. It's very frustrating and I can't really do anything about it from my side. My mom wants me to spray round up on their side, but I refuse. They have kids, and personally I don't use round up myself anyways. Would it be rude for me to say something to them? I am guessing yes.
