Chickpeas, sautéed onions and garlic, curry powder. Add a can of crushed tomatoes and simmer. Serve over rice.

I can do a lot with a few items in the freezer, but pure pantry is hard. Some of my standbys for freezer/panty combo meals (nothing fresh/perishable required):
- Spaghetti with meat sauce (ground beef kept in freezer, everything else from pantry)
- The panko-breaded tilapia from Costco (I think a PP mentioned it also) with frozen veggies
- I think of sweet potatoes and butternut squash as pantry items. Cook some of those up with a meat from the freezer
- Sliced sausage with a boxed jambalaya or Spanish rice mix. Something green on the side if I can find anything!
- Canned beans or lentils, simmered with spices, served over rice. Again, whatever veggie (frozen if needed) I can find in the kitchen. Black beans + cumin, red lentils + curry powder.
