Always........but I like the music because I actually helps me zone out and keep pace. I will easily go multiple songs and not be listening to them. They are simple background noise to me.
Of course there are times a specific song comes on which gets me hype and helps me up my pace. ~N~ |
| Yes. It used to be my time to unplug, but then I sprained my ankle and had to walk about a 1/4 mile before I saw someone. Unfortunately, my DH didn't pick up bc he was mowing the grass and I didn't know anyone else's number by heart that lived nearby. Walked a mile home. I have an armband from Target. Good to slip a couple dollars in during races. |

Only if I know someone might need to reach me, or if I'm running in an unfamiliar area and think I might get lost and need the mapping software. (or if I'm running a race with a lot of downtime beforehand and need the entertainment.)
I run with an ipod and a GPS, so normally I don't bother with a phone. Target's dollar section had some cheap armbands last time I was there - like $5. Worth it. |
| I run w/o a cell. No music. I just want to hear my body if there are any tell-tale signs of an impending heart attack. |
| No, I have never carried a phone while running. I have run a lot, trained for numerous half marathons and a marathon. I have never injured myself to the point of needing to call someone to come get me. Ok there was one time i tripped and fell very close to home but it was residential area so someone helped me. Unless you are running in a very remote area there will usually be someone walking by. |
| I've been running for 15 years and have never run with anything other than keys. I don't run with music because I think it's important to be attuned to my surroundings, and I've never had an emergency necessitating help, knock on wood. |
WHAT????? So without a phone how are you going to call the ambulance?? |
