JBAB CDC

And, yes, the CDCs are play based which isn’t necessarily bad-just less formal instruction than what you’d get at a preschool type of daycare.

I do not know what marketing is being put out, but my colleagues all report the JBAB CDCs all are only providing child care. Calling any of them "preschool" or "educational" is not being entirely truthful. In some cases, colleagues moved to a real preschool/kindergarten once their kid was old enough (3,4,5) and they could secure a place for their kids.

The kids will learn some social skills (e.g., share, take your turn, don't hit other kids) at these CDCs, but they are very unlikely to learn any reading, pre-reading, math, or other preschool/kindergarten educational skills.

Anyone had a child at JBAB CDC III lately? I was just told we got a spot there that opens up on exactly the same day that I'm likely to go back to work (have been home with baby since birth about 8 months ago). We don't have any other daycare options right now so my partner was planning to go on LWOP until we find something that's quality and walkable from home.

Anyways, just trying to gauge it's current state--the majority of the posts I've found here have generally positive reviews, but they all seem to be from like 5-8 years ago. Thanks!

Can I ask what priority number you are? We're hoping for an infant spot as well.... just curious if they're on priority number 2 or not...

The rates are amazing. You may want to get supplemental tutoring for your little one with the money you save. Otherwise, recommend. Everyone's very nice there. The facility isn't as whiz bang as other pricey daycares but it's fine.
