When is the orientation for your AAP Center?

Secret orientations when they are on the County site is a little far fetched...

That being the case, your orientation will most likely be during the school day, teachers are not going to put on an orientation during their time off. It is clearly not secret, they just do not want every parent showing up when it does not pertain to every parent. They do not want to answer questions regarding anything other than the ones dealing with AAP Level IV Orientation. Our school already sent out the date of our orientation and states that it is mostly pertinent to parents of those children who are found eligible. This was sent to the whole school. If your child is not eligible it does not say you are not invited.

You think saying it will be May 4th-15th is notice for planning purposes So parents should just block that entire time period off their work calendars? If that's your position, I guess your right, parents have had at least six months notice

This is a reasonable approach. It would be nice if all AAP centers handled it this way, but they don't. Site-based management at its worst.

Last year our school expressly stated that orientation was open to: (1) those found eligible, (2) those considering an appeal, (3) those who might be interested in AAP in future years. Seemed very open and fair to me.

I would assume it's up to the parents.
