Which would you choose? KP/KG, Keene Mille, Bonnie Brae or Oakview?

Too many things are wrong even to name, but I would say look elsewhere unless you have a very outgoing, resilient child and you yourself are pretty impervious.

oh! Can you provide even a little detail? Is it that the administrators are not receptive? Bonnie Brae has more affordable housing than other areas for some reason that I don't understand and that as reason I was considering the area.

Also interested for a different reason. The Bonnie Brae principal (Ms. Bruce?) spoke at the last school board work session on large class sizes. If things are going well there, Garza and the school board should know before they take into consideration her comments on class size.

The class sizes are very large, but that may be the case everywhere. The problem for us was that the principal is only interested in defending teachers and staff - if your child has a problem with anyone, you have no recourse. There is just no accountability for the teachers and staff, and some of them need to go. If you have a sensitive child who is having a hard time with a teacher, it's a difficult situation to be in, because you cannot effectively advocate for them when everyone at the school is so defensive. They can be very rude and confrontational when questioned or even slightly criticized.

But to add to that - smaller class sizes would definitely help a lot. Teachers there simply cannot effectively teach with classes that size. That is probably the cause of a lot of the problems. It may be county wide.

My daughter is going to start at KP/KG in the fall, don't have any personal experience yet but the kindergarten orientation was great and I've heard great things about the school and community. I don't think you can go wrong with most of the schools already on your list. I would second that I've heard great things about White Oaks, Sangster, and Orange Hunt, too.

I'll just throw out there that our kids go to Rolling Valley in West Springfield and it is fantastic. Great principal, great teachers, and a more diverse student body than some of the elementary schools around here. It feeds to Irving/West Springfield.

I also have kids at Bonnie Brae and have nothing but positive things to say. WE have loved all our teachers and find the office and admin to be super easy to get in touch with and very receptive to needs and issue my kids have had. Whenever we have had a little issue come up, they have met with us and dealt with it quickly and in a kind manner. My kids both love their school and going there everyday. Both have class sizes under 25 and have since starting there. Two grades currently have larger classes, but the other 4 are pretty good in my opinion Good luck with your choice!

We have had class sizes of 26 and 33. Yes, 33. I don't know of any class with fewer than 25. Are you still at BBES and not talking about a few years ago?

Consider the Truro and surrounding neighborhoods in Annandale - in Woodson, but reasonably priced.

I am going to pile on with Terra Centre as an option too. We know many families there who were very happy. Several friends at Fairveiw too who are very happy. The only school in the Robinson I am not familiar with is Oakview.... This is a great area.

+1 with Terra Centre. Smaller school, fantastic principal, administration, and teachers. Love the sense of community the school offers.

Yes....still at Bonnie are and both kids classes are 25 or under this year. Last year we were at 21 for one kid and 26 the year before that.....not too bad IMO. 4th and 5th grade are much bigger, so I totally get that those classes being huge, but all grade are not like that

Our son is in first grade at KP, and we have been really happy with the school. Because KP is just K-3, it is a very intimate setting.
