Often with frequent flyer miles you can renew them simply by using a bare minimum of miles for something, for example a magazine subscription. For 900 miles or something you can get Sports Illustrated or Time or the Economist and renew your miles for another few years. Or just rent a car and put it on your airline mileage account. That will renew the other miles as well.

You definitely need a car, unless you plan on staying downtown (not recommended as it's just a party/tourist scene). Toronto is a very cool, walkable city. Miami is fun, but definitely a party. New York, though it can be pretty gnarly in the summer. Those are my ideas! |

OP here. The 25K round trip miles would only be enough for travel in the US (excluding Hawaii/Alaska) AND Canada. In the end I was between Vancouver and Seattle and opted for Seattle. |
