I'm blonde (platinum turned dishwater) and DH is a redhead. Both of our kids were born with a lot of very dark brown hair. One child's hair came in reddish the first year then turned sandy blonde. The other went platinum blonde and it's still very light at age 12.

I'm confounded by our kid's hair color - was born fiery red, mellowed by the end of his first year to a bit more red than strawberry blond. Husband and I both brunette, as are all of our parents. The red hair must have come from waaay back. Love it though.

I was born with dark brown hair, which turned blond before my first birthday. My DS was born with bright strawberry blond hair (very fine). He lost most of it by 4 months, at which point his hair grew back sandy blond and curly.

I was blonde as a baby, turned strawberry blonde, then turned dark brown. My baby was born with dark brown hair, which never quite fell out but turned blond and is now kind of a sandy blonde. It can change, and it can change again.
