| mmmmm....yes....such a huge connection between 9/11 and what is going on currently in Iraq and Afghanistan. NOT. |
Need a reminder of what happened on 9/11? Some of us were there and some of us lost friends and family that day. You sound like just the kind of pathetic nuts who enjoy watching trauma. I know I don't need to watch a documentary, I remeber the events of that day every day and don't need a lecture about it. But thanks. Remember where you are - and who you ar speaking to when you post OP. |
That tape is one of the most powerful things I have ever heard and people MUST hear it. It's no different than going to the holocaust museum to be reminded how atrocious it was and how it can't ever happen again. The whole "never forget" thing- it's part of that. |

+1 It's a fabulous documentary. I also think it is beyond dispute that the media made a conscious decision to downplay or suppress many of the horrors on 9/11 because of fear at how an enraged American people might react.
Quite different from how they handle other stories, it seems to me. That's just opinion, of course, and many reasonable people might think that decision was justified in any case. |
I'm a veteran. I am mostly treated with honor and respect by people of all ages and all walks of life. A very small amount of people may treat vets bad, but that does not mean all people of that (insert stereotyped age or race or religion here). I don't want my children to be radicalized by the right to be intolerant and afraid. No thank you. I also believe understanding WHY people become radicalized is important to combatting it. |
You can be very aware of the horror of the day without putting people's last horrified gory moments on display. I was very aware of the holocaust before going to the museum. Just watching the film of the plane crashes brings me to tears. |
I get why someone might want their loved ones heard but I also completely get why another person might feel like its an invasion of something private- OP can you really not see how someone might have a different view of this? |
It means OP is a big Darryl Worley fan. |
