| We got in to K but we won't be attending. |

A bunch of IB Brent PK3 kids will be enrolling!
|
| The folks IB for Brent enrolling in PK3 at VN are going to be an interesting dynamic...it seems likely that there will be a good number of OOB slots available for K in two years as they leave to attend their IB school. |
| If Van Ness does a great job, I imagine its possible some Brent families might stay at Van Ness. As far as I can tell from gossip so far, though, the primary OOB demand for Van Ness is Brent families shut out of preschool. |
That's too bad for Van Ness, will be hard if they have half the class knew in K. |
Where will you go instead? We got in (K), but our only other option is Miner (our in-bound) |
If this happens, it's NOT good news for the VNPG who presumably don't want an influx of OOB kids at K. |
+1. In a year or two they will be back at Brent for kindergarten. |
| I would not all be surprised if Brent parents decide to stay put beyond PK in the event they are happy with the teachers and curriculum, have formed bonds with classmates and/or prioritize diversity. One important issue will be tecresources the PTA can bring to bear. For example, will VN have a dedicated science teacher, school play, etc.? Other major factors that may impact decisionmaking is tbe progression of the Virginia Avenue Tunnel Project and the housing which is built over the next two years. so, who knows what will happen in SY 2017-18? For better or worse, Brent families may have the best of both worlds to the extent they can avail themselves of their IB rights at any time. If anything, Bret actually may get the shorter end of the stock to the extent that IB families will focus their attention and resources on VN. |
| And don't forget- half of next year's kindergarten class was shut out of Brent. They are aware/able to handle classes of mixed new/old students quite readily! |
I would certainly hope so… having a group of new students in a kindergarten class is not exactly a new concept. |
| Not to quibble, but the number is laser to 43 percent. |
| Not to quibble, but the number is closer to 43 percent. |
You go, Van Ness Booster! |
| Brent parent, not VNPG booster, who feels insulted that you would think I am the latter. |
