And yet one of the other finalists (of 3 from MD) was from RM. Go figure. |
This is a perennially odd argument. The Blair magnet program is AT BLAIR. (Bonus points also for implying that the kids didn't actually do the research.) |
Nope. Poolesville gets students from a very small segment of schools. The Blair magnet gets kids from, Bethesda, North Bethesda, Potomac, etc. Poolesville doesn't push Intel as much as the BLAIR MAGNET. And yes there is a difference between Blair and the Blair Magnet. |
Specifically, from this very small segment of schools: •Clarksburg •Damascus •Gaithersburg •Magruder •Northwest •Poolesville •Quince Orchard •Seneca Valley •Watkins Mill And yes, there is a difference between Blair and the Blair magnet program. Blair is the whole high school. The Blair magnet program is a program in that high school. I would draw a Venn diagram, if I could figure out the formatting. |

The Blair Intel finalist does not appear to have an Asian name.
- A Jewish mom |
|
He is not Asian, good call mom above ?
Also, RM was a finalist - NOT A WINNER. ReAd the article- 'Blair has produced more Intel Finalists than any other school in the country since 1999.... And the school ranks 3rd nationally for finalists since the competition began in 1942.' |

I love that one of his prizes is an all-expense trip to Washington DC.
Congrats on a job well done! |
| That ? Was suppose to be an ! |
I don't understand the Poolesville-is-better Blair troll's fixation on demographics -- as though any program at a school that is not perfectly demographically representative of the school is actually not at that school. It's like saying that Whitman actually not an MCPS high school. |
and the # reason why they have veteran teachers there? the parents, not the way you would think but because the parents at the up county schools and silver spring schools don't have to deal with the parents in the W schools who are a huge pain in the ............ They would rather teach in a more diverse school with less parent involvement than one with more involvement |
Never read more nonsense!!! Nearly all veteran magnet teachers retired/left. Speaking of "W" schools, they retain teacher as long as or longer than DCC and NEC schools. Just sayn'. |
How do you know this? Also, where did you get the data on teacher turnover by school? |
Really ask a few, I know I have seeing I am one of them. |
