Rate this rug from overstock

These are pretty popular (read trendy, will be dated eventually) and non-offensive styles.

I saw one at World Market that's actually wool and similarly priced: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/ivory-moroccan-shag-rug.do?show_directory=true&refType=&from=fn

Can't speak to the longevity of it.

OP - Let me help you. I understand - It took me 2 months to find a rug online recently. And I was on overstock.

OK - you have a gray couch. That matches just about anything. With a gray couch, and presumably neutral walls, your rug should have color in it. It will be the centerpiece of your room. I'd go with a persian or turkish or kilim type of rug, with some red and/or blue in it, definitely not a white/gray rug.

Then, you pick 1 or 2 colors from the rug, and buy matching pillows to put on the couch to tie it all together.

OP - Lay down several white towels where you plan to lay this rug. See how the white stands up to a couple weeks of wear.

FWIW, I like the one posted above better than the one you were looking at, OP. It looks less cheap/shiny.

I like the style of rug you've picked, OP, and I'm fussy about rugs. I don't like the ones the PP has suggested (Persian style).

I'd probably get it in wool, though.

OP here - I saw this one at the store and i shook it a little - shed like crazy. I was bummed because it was on sale and it looked perfect.

We ordered a bunch of rugs from overstock and they are great. In general I don't like shag rugs though - they seem kid-unfriendly to me and I can only imagine the nastiness that gets lost in the long threads.

OP here - I saw a very cool rug at Urban Oufitters that had the red and blue tribal pattern going on. I loved it, my husband didn't. I was going to override but the rug didn't come in a big enough size to start with.

I know this one is trendy and white but I have really fallen in love with the simpleness of it. Since it will cost less than $200, I can probably update in a few years. But, I also worry that it is too simple and too neutral, I can see that we could use more than a pop of a color in that room.

What kind of rug would you put in a bachelor pad?
