Best Place to Order Sandwiches for a Kid's Birthday Party

If you were only planning to get sandwiches for the kids, then yes ditch them - kids generally aren't drawn to sandwiches other than pb&j. But most kids won't want wings so I'd still get a nugget platter (I bet even some adults will eat them!). But I also agreed that the big sub is a good idea - I think adults love those.

Really? So you think I should completely ditch the sandwich idea?

We're also going to have chicken wings and empanadas, so if I ditch sandwiches, Im not so sure the nuggets will even be necessary...

I would get sandwiches. My kids love the cheese sandwich from subway. My kids do not chicken.

Chicken nuggets and mac and cheese.

That will keep everyone happy.

Do most kids eat sandwiches? I have 2, 9 and 6 yo, and I don't think either has ever eaten a sandwich.

IMO most young kids do not eat sandwiches (before someone comes on to post that their 5 yr old loves sandwiches, I said most not all). When I see you g kids eat samdwiches, they usually open them up, eat the cheese or turkey, will not touch lettuce/tomato/condiments, and then eat the bread - so it is basically like they ate a piece of cheese and a piece of bread on the side.

Ok I was about to order sandwiches for my three year olds party in a few weeks and so glad I read this - my child doesn't love pizza and does like sandwiches but if other kids don't - what would be popular??

Do sandwiches that your kid would like as well as some mac & cheese. Fresh fruit. You're in business.

When my kid was 3 he did not like pizza either (as a 10 yr old it is his favorite food, btw), so we would order mini bagel platters for his parties in late morning/early afternoon, and chicken nugget platters for those in the afternoon.

We did platters of Ruby Tuesday minis (cheeseburger and chicken). They were a hit.

Mom of the three year old here - sorry I lost this thread bc it moved from
Gen parenting to food - great ideas - thanks!!

OP here. Thanks for the suggestions! I had no clue that kids didnt like sandwiches. I didnt either (and still dont care for them much) but mostly because I like hot food.

Curious though- why do kids like chicken nuggets, but not wings? I'm weary of nuggets because they are rarely real chicken... But so many of you have suggested Chick Fil A. Is it real chicken?

My 6 year old would not eat chicken wings or empanadas. I agree that you should ditch the sandwiches. Kids are picky so you'd need to get them as plain as possible and then deal with the condiments on the side. Possibly even the tomatoes and lettuce.

So I say either do a nuggets (chick filet unless you are politically opposed) or pizza. These are kid friendly foods. 10-12 may do sandwiches but the younger set not so much.

BONES this is the reason most kids will eat nuggets and not wings. Chick-filet is pieces of real chicken not the overly processed stuff you get at McDonalds.

Y'all have some picky kids! My kids would eat pretty much anything you put in front of them - sandwiches, pizza, wings, nuggets, mac and cheese.......

The comment that "kids are picky..." is ridiculous. Most kids are not picky.
