| We were at the Shoe for several years and only left when youngest got into a fed center. The fed center is wonderful, but we miss the Shoe for how professional everyone was on the admin level. They never require fundraising, or parents to do Board work, etc. They organize the part time options for you and make it all very easy. We miss them! |
You're welcome.
Sibling discount is 10% off the older child's tuition. Not enough to make a significant difference (at least not for us), but I appreciate on principle that they do it. |
| I can't complain about 10% ...thanks! |
Sure thing! Yeah, no complaints from me, either. Money is money. And the thing is, at the Shoe and similar daycares, they're very invested in building a community of sorts among the families who attend there. So to not offer any sort of discount, to me, really undermines what they're trying to do. I know it's a business, but you can also treat your customers well. Any way, good luck with getting a spot at where you'd like to! Can't remember if I put this in an earlier post, but if you tour the Shoe and like it, letting them know you want to be there regularly makes a big difference in getting a spot. They want families who want to be there. We were fortunate to get a spot very quickly, but I also emailed them every two weeks or so to express our continued interest. They'll probably tell you that on the tour, but a heads up in case not. |
| I have one more question - is there a choice of paying monthly vs weekly? Is the monthly cheaper? |
|
Bethesda Reggio...absolutely amazing, reasonably priced, tons of outdoor time, immersion curriculum.
Smaller and more cuddly if you'd rather go that route, also immersion, Happy Hands. Fantastically attentive and the smaller number of kids keeps.sick day reasonable. |
If you go PT, you have to pay weekly (which we do). Monthly might be ever so slightly cheaper, but not much, I don't think. That would be a good question for the center itself. I checked our most recent letter about tuition and was having a hard time doing the math to see if there was a discount! |

| Can anyone share the preschool tuition for Children in the Shoe in Bethesda? I'm looking for a place for my 3-year-old. I've reached out to them through the form on their website, but if it's way out of my budget, it's probably better for me to know that up front. |
