Annandale HS?

Anonymous
Annandale s a perfectly good school. It definitely has a higher FARMS rate than other schools, but honestly your kid will be fine. From what I gather safety isn't an issue. As for the neighborhood improving, who knows? It's really a toss-up. The potential is there.

I think Annandale has one of the lower reputations? Within a few miles of Annandale- there is Woodson, Lake Braddock, Robinson and Wet Springfield that I would all rank higher.

But all of those schools are outside the Beltway with longer commutes to most parts of DC and Arlington.

Is the Pentagon in Arlington? I don't know anyone who commutes anywhere else in Arlington for work.

the neighborhood for braddock elementary/annandale hs is right against the beltway . Go 1/4 of a mile and you have much better school options.

It really does not, and its reputation is likely to decline further as the impact of the various redistrictings that stripped Poe MS and Annandale HS of many of their single-family neighborhoods sinks in over the next few years.

Woodson has the best reputation in that area, followed by Falls Church, whose reputation is improving.

Falls Church is terrible and worst than Annandale , at least Annandale has a lot of Koreans that help academics

And let me guess, you have zero experience with either school besides knowing the greatschools ratings, right? What a joke.

Almost surely the case or he'd know Falls Church has a higher percentage of Asian kids than Annandale now and that most of the Koreans moved further west and north years ago.

OP here. Thank you for all the posts. We were too slow on making an offer and someone else got the house. We'll keep looking, though.
