| I can't believe y'all get to telework 3 times a week. |
| When I was working in DC- I did 10 hour days and teleworked Thursday (with Fridays off). It was a great schedule (although M-W sucked) |
|
Agree that Wednesdays are the best. It helps break up my week.
|
| Alternate Tuesdays and Wednesdays here. I would not do Mondays or Fridays. |
| At a previous job I teleworked on Wednesdays because I never had to go into the office more than twice in a row. But at current job we have a meeting every Wed so I do it on Fridays. Not as good. |
| Is there anyone here who teleworkers at a private sector job? Just curious |
Same, and I love it. It's mainly psychological; I love not having to face the world immediately after a weekend, and then after busy Tuesdays (and they're always busy, especially since I'm not in on Mondays), Wednesdays at home are a relief. And then after two days of being in the office around people, it's the weekend! |
19:19 here; I'm at a private firm. I've worked there forever and am pretty senior, but we also have lots of remote employees, so working from home isn't a big deal. |
| Previous position I chose Wednesdays to break up the week. It was great. |
NP here. I telework Tuesdays. It seems that Tuesdays are always snow days. You are supposed to work during snow days if that's your telework day. Bummer. |
I'm private sector and I telework at least once, usually twice a week. I work for a large company and it's very much the culture there. Some departments have more people than space so they are encouraged to come in for meetings etc. but work remotely most of the time. Teleworking is becoming more common in both the private sector and government. |
Yes - I do at least 3x per week. I'm pretty senior as well but have been doing for years. |
I do. I like Wed. as my telework day because I like how it breaks up the week. My boss also teleworks on Wed. For a while we had different telework days and it made scheduling meetings difficult so this works better. I've been here 4 yrs and always teleworked -- my boss mentioned when I was interviewing that she WAH once a week so I asked for the same when I was offered the job. I was also offered a full-time telework job with a former employer but turned it down because 1) The company was on the West coast and I knew from doing some freelance work with them that the time difference would make things difficult and 2) I really prefer to be in an office and see my coworkers in person most days. |
