Clothing budget for teen (13 y.o) DD

Anonymous
My DD (in HS) gets $100 a month on a debit card as an allowance for clothing, entertainment, snacks and incidentals. I pay for her school uniforms, underwear, one pair of school shoes, one pair of athletic shoes and a winter coat. The rest is hers to budget for and pay for. So far she has been more than prudent with it.

DS spends about $400 a month on clothes. Most of his clothes are from Costco, target, or Old Navy but he needs clothes for cycling and triathlons and that's expensive.

He is doing something very wrong if he is spending $4800 a year on clothes. What a waste. Of money, of clothing, of the opportunity to teach money management, etc.
