BJs or Costco |
Bed from Craigslist, but we got a good mattress (and with a waterproof cover). |
The pool noodle works really well. We've had one in my sons bed from the time he left the crib. He hasn't fallen out once. |
IKEA has a cheap pine twin bed that is low to the floor. It takes to paint well. Nwe added a few more boards to the headboard so it would be sturdier. We also added a few extra boards tinder the matttress. It Have gotten twin mattresses both nice at bjs and Costco. The bjs is a bit firmer. |
We did a full and it is great. I almost went with a cheap mattress but I started thinking about how much time I might spend in there with him and we do also use his room as a guest room sometimes. Sometimes I see he is almost off the edge of the bed but he has never fallen off and we moved him into a big bed around 3.5. Good luck OP. We didn't need it but I love the pool noodle under the sheets idea every time I see it. |
For some reason the pool noodle trick never worked for us - DS would just roll right on over it! We went with an actual bed rail, like this: http://www.amazon.com/Regalo-Hide-Away-Extra-White/dp/B000H1IYXW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1425237450&sr=8-2&keywords=bed+rail ![]() It worked out very well for us. |
$399 for Pottery Barn Catalina. Comes in white or dark wood stain. Really solid bed. |
^^^^^oh and we never did bed rails of any kind for either kid. Just bed rails on lowest setting and no box spring (bed is designed for with or without.) |
