Diversity depends on the school. My boarding school was very diverse economically, geographically and ethnically. |
| St. Albans is an excellent school, an outstanding education combined with structure, guidance, rules, strong role models, spiritual enrichment, personal achievement, and tradition. And its alumni network is devoted and strong. I regret not sending my son there when I had the opportunity to do so. |

Eh. I went to Madeira in the 90s. I'm smart, but not super super smart, and I feel I was average for my cohort.
If you compared these selective schools' SAT scores to the SAT scores of the best students in the higher-achieving public schools in the US I am guessing they'd be on par. This isn't news. Selective schools are selective. Smart kids are smart. I had no idea Stalbans had boarders! No idea! |
| I went to one of the schools on this list and, to be honest, it wasn't such an amazing experience that I ever considered sending my children there. I now view these lists/rankings with a slightly "open" eye since I know the truth about one considered top…first and foremost - living in a city like DC with all of the great educational options there is very little reason to send your kids away. |

my kid goes to one like this also; probably why it’s not on that list. |
I regret sending my son there. It has many serious flaws, including some bad role models and hypocrisy. You don't know for sure what your son's experience would have been like. |

My son was well-liked and respected among his peers and adults. He has many passions and a rare compassion for other boys. I highly recommend the single sex education.
