Tree question - privacy

If Leylands are in full sun, they won't just "fall over" or "snap". If they do, you replace them. Really not a big deal. Unless you make it one.

PP, be careful trimming them. They are expensive trees, if you buy good ones.

I keep meaning to find one, maybe one who lives in Takoma Park and works for herself, who could come consult on my replanting my yard. But I never get around to it.

Not the OP, BTW. I'm the guy whose cypresses fell over in the snow.

You want Anna (annak_mj@hotmail.com). She lives near Takoma Park, is a professional gardener, and knows a lot about trees. She will occasionally take on private work to design and/or install plantings.

Thank you!

If enough snow falls on them, and the wind blows, they sure will.
You're right though, it's really not a big deal. If you've had them growing in for 8 or 9 years, so they're about twice their original height, and you only lose two in the row, you just call the leyland cypress store, and order a couple that are the same height to match the ones you have. They'll come right over and plop them right in. No big deal.

Oops, I missed that last bit of wisdom. I bought the cheap crappy ones from the guy who was selling them out of a bucket, by the offramp from the Beltway.

Actually, most nurseries carry them. If you can't afford to landscape, then don't.

Are you this unpleasant in real life?

I thought the Gardening forum would be relative free of pompous know-it-alls. I guess I was wrong. DCUM is DCUM.

Wow - what a JA. I am guessing you can afford it no problem.
