Painting walls, trim and ceiling same color

BM White Dove leans slightly gray, and can appear muddy in some light. It's not a pure white like BM Decorators White. To use white paint for entire rooms, typically you have to have large windows to begin with for light. Also, if you look at Houzz for white rooms, you see white furniture and accessories repeated throughout the room (rugs, pillows etc).

White Dove has a light reflection index of 84.59-it will reflect bright daytime light well, afternoon light not as much. It goes well with grays, purple undertones, certain greens, and black.

If you have the natural lights in your home, other BM whites to consider are purest of all, Simply White 2143-70 and ever popular Decorators White BM CC-20.

How about Super white? In what circumstances should it be used?

So do you think I should steer away? I don't want the rooms to be too stark. I had considered simply white over white dove.

Ditto. And it was such a huge pain to repaint because everything had to be repainted. Not just the walls and trim. Tried that at first and the color of the ceiling was very visible and clashed.

09:41 here. As yourself, I'm repainting. I considered all white but for my house, I don't think it will work given how BM Linen White looked washed out by the afternoon. So I'm moving on to BM warm grays like Edgecomb Gray, Revere Pewter and others.

As to BM White Dove for trim, walls and doors, it all depends on your light so I can't say. I use BM White Dove on my trim and remarkably in our house it stays white but I have heard others say it doesn't in theirs. Simply White is less gray toned, that's why I mentioned it. I don't recall Super White right now.

Good luck. Read Miriam Killam's articles on whites and undertones. They helped me a lot.

How high are the ceilings? If the ceilings are 9' or higher, it could look fabulous If they are standard height, i.e., older house, then I'd paint the ceiling a slightly lighter color and the walls two shades lighter (more warm). A house down in BM's Linen white with a flat white ceiling and a glossy trim on the woodwork looks fabulous IF there are plenty of windows or the windows that are there let in plenty of light.

Op-I picked up BM-Simply White and applied it beside the BM-Dove White in each room. The Dove White definitely appears more gray at different times during the day. The Simply White read as a creamy white during those times and was beautifully stunning. I'm definitely going with the Simply White. I think the Decorator's White could be too stark in our old home. Thanks all!

We did Simply White in our room too - trim and walls. A nice slightly creamy color.

What sheens did you use for the trim and walls if you dont mind me asking?

Consider BM Cloud White which is in between Simply White and White Dove.

I just started working with an interior decorator who plans to do this to our house - she said all white top to bottom is the trend.

Semi-gloss and eggshell I think. I'll have to check the cans.

This is our family room so we didn't want matte.
