what phrase do your kuds use that you find irritating?

I can't stand when my 9 year old starts talking and the sentences all go up at the end like lilting. Her friend also punctuates my daughter's stories with "cool" and I can't stand hearing that.

I still find DC's attempts to use "cool kid" lingo hilarious. It will probably get old soon though. He is so obvious about it (big dramatic pause after every new phrase he throws at me to see if I noticed that he's using a hip new word). He might as well be shouting, "Look at me, Mom! See me growing up?" Hilarious.

Did I write this?

Also, when you ask them if they want more food and they answer with "I'm fine." Who cares if you're fine. Just take some darn beans or say "no, thank you."

I love you, PP.

What about when people ask, "Do you mind if I come in?" and the other person says, "Yes" while gesturing for them to enter.

Do kids still do that?

Kind of curious.. Is it that 'like' that bothers you or the use of 'all?'

The UK version of this is, "I'm brilliant". Learned that from our UK kid houseguest.

NP here who wants into this love fest!

What about the use of "historical" when they mean "historic"?

"It was surreal!"

Really? Or do you mean "unreal"? Very few things in life except surrealistic paintings and dreams have ever been surreal. Certainly not your high school graduation.

my 8 yo daughter has been saying "apparently" ALL the time.

I think I'm going to try to get my 3.5yo to start saying gnarly. That would be so funny.
