Public School vs Private School

Not shooting the messenger at all. Just looking for more information and wanting to understand if you heard directly from the teachers or if it was secondhand. (I am curious about why the teachers would teach there if they feel so strongly about it, but I'm sure they have their reasons.) I have no ties to any of these schools but I'm considering one of them. Each new piece of information is useful. Thanks for sharing what you've heard.

The teachers need a job. That's why they work. They continue to work in poor public schools too. Nothing is perfect,
I've also heard a teacher from Holton say the same thing about Primary Day.

Well, what early schools do these teachers recommend? Montessori? St. Francis? Harbor? Woods Academy? These are all in the area, if not Primary Day School (which has a good rep), then what for preschool/early school?

I have not heard any one school recommended. It would be nice to anaymously poll teachers and ask them what they think. Studies are in favor of Montessori, but not past 3rd grade.

I have heard only good things about Primary Day. We are trying to get in. Everyone I've spoken to raves about the academic challenge.

Private schools should have federal oversight.
