One thing I realized a few years ago, after a lifetime of indifferent haircare, is that my hairstyle is my most important accessory. I wear this head of hair 24 hours per day, so it's more important than any single outfit, pair of shoes, or piece of jewelry. Upon this epiphany, I found a great stylist and now force myself to get regular haircuts & highlights, and I style my hair everyday, even if I am just staying home. I actually put more effort into my look now that I am a mid-thirties working mom than I did when I was a carefree twentysomething!
