Parents who are already in a school they love...

For example, we are at Creative Minds. I think if we couldn't go there, I would choose Inspired Teaching.

The parents aren't in the school. What weird phrasing.

This question could be reworded: Where is the grass greener?

Walking to school was our priority, so there's really no second choice for us.

Eaton is fantastic. Given our current five minute walk to school, I don't have a second choice - but would gladly send my kids to Oyster if we lived in Woodley Park.

I like this topic it allows for people to give love to "competition" school. Although I don't see it as a competiton, we can easily get into debates about why our school "choice" was best that we forget that the more # of good schools the better for all of us. Even if we're at a school that we love, the schools should know that there is competiton out there and they are held accountable to an extent. Also I don't think of it as a grass is greener, but more like "I love my handsome DH, but find other men attractive" deal

We are at IT, we would consider Creative Minds and Cap City. If my kid were younger or already had Spanish exposure then LAMB and MV too.

more like - you think your grass is really green, so where is it even greener (or at least as green/just a shade less green).

Basically a horse race for winners of horse races. Agree, it's obnoxious (even though I responded to it).

No, that would be "where would you rather be?" This is a much more interesting question. If is asking people for their preferences amongst schools when they are at their first choice. There people have all seen at least two years of this, some probably several more, and have no dog in the fight and don't need to worry about strategy.

14:37: Why would you take Maury over SWS?

I am at Janney. If I couldn't be there, I would go to Murch.

DC was at our #2 choice (CM) so we entered him in the lottery for one school only for PK4 (LAMB) and were successful.

We haven't entered DC in the lottery since, but if DC couldn't continue at LAMB, CM would remain our second choice.

We're at SWS and love it. If were to disappear, I'd like my kids to go to Brent.

Murch and Deal.

Lafayette or Janney if not Murch. Would take Latin if not Deal.

We are at SWS and will never do the lottery again, probably will do private for ms and hs but that's no time soon and would switch to mv cause its walking distance and language
