Super bowl commercials

Yep, that #likeagirl one was the best. I'd seen it before, but it was the first time my DH and kids saw it. 9 yo DD said "that's not nice" at the beginning of it. DH and DS were silent ... but I know it made an impact. Love that ad!

The fiat one was funny and almost the only one i remembered.
The Ted movie trailer was funny.
The Doritos on a plane ad was funny.
I liked the Liam one too.
The domestic violence one was powerful.
I had a hard time with the Nationwide commercial, but given that everyone is talking about, if their intent was to start a dialogue, they succeeded.

I started tearing up at #likeagirl too. I was watching with my daughter who is starting to go through puberty, and we had a good conversation about the commercial. She doesn't get why running like a girl is supposed to be a bad thing, and I was thinking, stay strong and don't ever think it's a bad thing. God, I'm tearing up again.

I had seen the commercial before, and I have a boy who is much too young to understand, and I got very teary too. And I'm teary again reading you post. Hope your daughter never thinks any different. Hope my son never learns any different.

Why? Because such things don't happen or because the add was during the superbowl? They targeted what will likely be a very very large audience to discuss things that we may not often thing think about until it happens to us or to someone close to us. Like a PP said, it did start a conversation even if not in a good way cos once you see that ad, you can't unsee it.

I also thought the very first one that Chevy did right before the game went to broadcast was pretty clever. The one where the TV "goes out" and then is just black screen and says 'what would you do if your cable went out...blah blah blah chevy has 4gLTE in all new models, you could stream the game from your truck"..

I just thought it was clever because I just know that so many people for a split second went "GASP!" thinking OH NO!

I thought Fiat was cute, I liked Liam's, I liked the Doritos on the plane one, I liked the weebly or wix or whatever for the Favre Carve's new businesses thing maybe the best. Geico and Icky, always good for me too!

I liked the one with Katie Couric and Bryant Gumble talking about "Whats the internet?" from the 90s. I don't even remember what the commcerical was for (A car I think?) but thought that was a good use of a clip and reminder it wasn't that long ego we didn't have social media 24/7

I like the Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel one for BMW.

I was jarred by the Nationwide commercial but don't think it was out of line.

What was up with the other Nationwide commercial with Mindy Kaling. I love her but the point seemed too on-the-nose.
