Sorry, I should not have said "hypocritical." You are right you never said there was no such thing as the Big 3. I don't want to be accused of being one of the crazies on this board. I just think that the OP asked an innocent question and only wanted to know what people meant by the term. I had the same question when I first started reading these threads and was too afraid of asking for fear of being lectured to. I apologize again. I hope the OP got her answer. |
Thanks, 13:05! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the correction. It does seem as though too many posters here are unable to ever apologize.
I would say that you are too sane to be posting here, but what does that say about me? |
Why not just say big 4 - Sidwell, GDS, "Beauvoir/NCS/St. Albans", and Maret. These really are the 4 well known and highly competitive schools that have Pre/K/ to 12 system. |
Or how about a Big 5, to round things out (things are often grouped Top 3, Top 5, Top 5, etc.)? So the Big 5 would be Sidwell, GDS, "Beauvoir/NCS/St. Albans", Maret, and Green Acres. |
I nearly just spit out my drink-Green Acres??? Come on, get real. |
How about we call all the schools collectively the Big Heart Attack or the Big Ulcer? That's what I feel coming on everytime I see that enrollment contract with a Bigger tuition than the previous year. |
Green Acres? Really? |
PP here...Of course Green Acres...I heard it was the place to be! |
Darling I love you but give me Park Avenue. |
But what are their exmissions like? |
Exmissions.....another "word" that exists only in the world of DCUM. |
Half move to New York, the other half become farmers. |
I love it, dahling! |
