Are private swim lessons for a 2.5 yo a waste of money?

I'm from Florida, where you start swimming lesson as soon as possible. But everyone has pools in their back yards, so pool safety is high on every parent's list.

My mom says I was swimming by 2, certainly I have memories of myself swimming at 3. Kids learn and they also can learn safety skills.

If you live around here though it might be more of a is it worth your time and money dilemma.

I highly recommend Weaquatics -- www.weaquatics.com

It's run by two brothers who were swim champs in Richmond. David does ISR training for the infants and toddlers. Brad works with kids on actual swimming and strokes. They're both fabulous with kids.

I think they have a pool they teach at in Georgetown.

thanks for this. Just sent them an email.

Anyone have experience with the one-on-one swim classes at the YMCAs in DC?
