Yes, I would, and keep the cords well out of reach.

No cords. There's no way to keep them away from kids; they are a permanent fixture in the room.

No mini blinds and no honeycomb shades. I had a rogue spider nest in one of the open spaces of the honeycomb and what seemed like a hundred tiny spiders to deal with.

What about roller shades ?

We did, with kid-safe cords, but that was 20 years ago.

IMO they look outdated now. And yes, they are dust magnets.
