Only a dusting on grass in NE DC.

Yeah, this is not a great precedent. If we have a 2 hour delay every time any snow sticks, we are in for a long winter.

They made the call at 5:22am. I wouldn't call that late.

5:22 is early enough but they caused confusion by announcing at 4:55 am that schools were opening on time. They really seem to be struggling to make the call.

you bitch a fit, and this is what you get. 2 hour delays every fucking cold precipitation days. This isn't Bower's fault - this is a bunch of fussy, complainy parents' fault. I'm kinda with her. You are going to scream and cry about taking your kids to school in two inches of snow, then this is what you get.

Bowser's desk must have a plaque that says, "The Buck Stops with Fussy Parents"?

Stop trying to make "fetch" happen! It's not going to happen!

Ha! It's true though. Bowser is just responding to what her constituents want.

The hilarious part will be when all these snow days eat into summer. Just remember the fuss you made about taking your kid to school in two inches of snow that started this mess . . .

So so many of the posts in those threads talking about erring on the side of caution and safety. Well, this is what it looks like. I'd prefer erring on the side of keeping schools open, which isn't always pretty but, IMO, prettier than this!

A delay day doesn't eat into summer does it? (First time dcps parent here.)

This is a no win situation - but this morning was dusting, the day they opened on time was clearly very slippery. I just hope the judgement calls get better, work doesn't love me being 3 hours late twice a week.

To err on the side of safety, we should all quit work and homeschool our kids.

Best joke all day. Except of course for the joke on the parents this morning.

I think these past two delays are a reaction to the screw up last week when they should have called for a 2 hour delay.

No. Delays don't eat into summer at all. And DC built in an additional inclement weather day into the calendar this year so kids would only have to make up days (PD's and half days get snatched first) if we go beyond 3 snow days.
