OP 96th percentile is considered gifted range for verbal. That's awesome! The fact verbal was so much higher that non-verbal probably indicates a non-verbal learning disability among other things. If verbal related achievement tests were average or below that probably indicates LDs as well.
I know it's stressful to hear anything is below average, but that verbal score should be exciting news. There are major strengths and your DC is not a "bad test taker" in all areas. Yes, LDs are no walk in the park, but they aren't anything to mourn either. Can you afford tutoring and other interventions? I would definitely get a full neuropsych to get a better grasp of learning strengths and weaknesses. |
