My kid likes them when I put a little salt on them. Worth a try... |
You want this bc its an easy option for lunch? Oh, brother... |
Try this. A few suggestions if you want to do this regularly. Rather than a sleeve, you can also use an old piece of panty-house or knee high and you can use and reuse twist ties rather than dealing with string. I have not tried this, but scrambling them should dissipate the sulfurous smell and remove the dry crumbly texture of the egg yolk. When I eat HB eggs, I only eat the white and not the yolk, but otherwise I love eggs.

Try giving her just the white part. My kids won't eat the yoke. |
Older eggs. Don't overcook. No smell. |
Yes, I love them. She sees me eating HB egg in my salads all the time. |
I can't stand them myself and completely grasp her aversion. Perhaps the little speckled quail eggs would be an interesting option for her? |
Egg salad and do not even think of taking them for lunch. They smell, and that will be the end. |
You don't. Nasty. |
The egg slicer is key, especially if it is a cute shape. We had one shaped like an egg. My kids started with only eating sliced eggs but now eat them whole, except they take the yolk out.
|
+2 I'll eat the white sometimes but not the yolk. |
I'm an adult. I love boiled egg whites. I think boiled egg yolks (and most preparations of egg yolks) are the most foul smelling and tasting things ever foisted upon me. My mom thinks I'm nuts and spent much of my childhood trying to insist I eat them since they are the best part of the egg. My hatred for egg yolks runs deep.
Don't fight this battle...you will lose. |
Don't give egg salad for lunch if there's no way to refigerate. Mayo can go bad and make her sick...not to mention the smell. |
Dip them in ketchup |
Funny, I always thought it's the white that smells, if at all? As a PP said above, use fresh eggs, and don't overcook (7min for large eggs). Lots of nutrition in yolks. My 2yo loves boiled eggs mashed up with mayonnaise, kind of like an egg salad. |
