She didn't distance herself from him. She got her own spin off show from the Cosby Show. She got fired b/c she got pregnant in real life and the show producers couldn't or wouldn't hide that fact b/c it didn't fit with the show's main character of a college student. |

But she came back to Cosby for a few seasons after having her daughter (the Olivia years) and mysteriously disappeared midway through a season. She never returns for reunions either. There's definitely bad blood there. |

First I had heard of any of this but I am only 33. So I probably wasn't as in tune with entertainment gossip as a tween. I think a lot of people my age hadn't heard of this until recently |

I haven't followed the details of all of the Cosby allegations, but I wasn't aware that drugging was common to all. What I have heard is that he liked them young, expected them to oblige, and wasn't above helping himself when it wasn't offered willingly.
Not to derail into Clinton, but I think the parallels are pretty obvious. Powerful, charismatic man, much loved in public, who behaved very differently in private and was surrounded with people who would enable it. No doubt many or most of the women with him were willing, but when they weren't, that didn't stop him. And his enablers turned the other way. |

Angel Heart came out in 1987. She didn't leave The Cosby Show until 1991 when she either quit or was fired, no one knows what really happened. |

Cosby could dismiss one, two or maybe even three of these stories, not 13. He hid behind his public persona like most offenders. Maybe if he'd kept his mouth shut, didnt preach to people and were not trying to star in another sitcom where he is playing "America's Dad," the accusations would have never surfaced again.
To the folks comparing him to Bill Clinton...just wrong. There is a big difference between charming the ladies out of their pants and drugging them to take their pants off. |
