Yes, I read it and since she said she is the de facto point of contact, I assumed that meant all the time, not just this one time on her husband's birthday. If that's the case, and it drives her batshit crazy, she should consider telling her husband to try to change it. That means the husband needs to call and engage with his own mother on a routine basis. Then maybe she'll feel more comfortable calling him directly. I think too many men try to foist all the family-of-origin tasks and contacts onto their wives. |
