Travel with baby- what gear is useful to have?

An Okkatotes diaper backpack worked great for me. Enough pockets, etc., inside for me, as well as the baby gear (including a special easy to access pocket for diapers).

We travel a ton with our kid. international and cross country on 7 round trip flights, and she isn't quite 2. rentals are your best friend. In euorope we always just got the car seat through the rental car company. All hotels at cribs too. Pack and Plays are HEAVY and a pain to take anywhere. In the US we always use a rental company for full size cribs etc. (Just did this in AZ and it was great, they set up everythign in advance for us at in laws hosue).
We used the city mini once on a trip but baby was small and she could sleep in it. But once she was sitting upright we swtiched to umbrella. You will will eventually have both strollers so go ahead and register.
