I would also feel very good that the teacher actually is paying attention to the child's progress to have made this comment. If she did not care or remember, she would not have written this.

It bothered my kid. She was the one who asked me if I thought it was rude...I could tell she was trying to figure out if it was meant to be funny even though it seemed rude. I'm not going to make a big deal about it, but I am hanging onto the worksheet...

Not worth the hand-wringing. Move on.

I would definitely save the paper and ask about it next week at teacher conferences.

This! And, explain that to your daughter, OP. Instead of allowing her to wallow in self-pity.

No. Teacher meant she knew I'd had it in her. Settle.

Exactly. Parents are unreal! Teacher was complimenting her.

prepare to develop a thicker skin.

Just ask about it in a non confrontational way, lets not assume what teacher meant.

to me it sounds like the teacher was working with your child a lot and rooting for him/her and was cheering "finally" when your child finally got them all right.
i would try to have a positive attitude towards your child's teacher.
if she didn't care she wouldn't have written anything.
