| I would not recommend NES after having my child there. The communication with families is very poor, the owner is outright defensive when you reach out with feedback, and (most importantly) they are currently under investigation from the VA department of Social Services (and did not tell the parents this when it happened). Please research the latest VA department of Social Services violations before even visiting this school. |
| Thank you for posting this PP. I reviewed the recent report and was taken aback by the issue described involving a 3 year old being restrained. I was considering NE stars for summer camp, but will take it off my list. |
As a current parent with some insight into the incident and dynamics among the teachers, I'd say that there is more to this story than is described in the incident report. The report came from an aide who had a very bad relationship with the teacher she submitted the reports on. The aide has since left the school, but not before sending multiple messages to several parents full of complaints. Are the reports entirely false? I have no idea. But my child ADORES the teacher reported on, and I just cannot see this teacher acting in the way outlined in the reports. Do I wish there were no teacher drama? Yes. Could the place be better about sending updates? Sure. But I am sure that my child is happy, loved and learning. |
As a former parent who knows some of the current ones and heard about this, I completely agree. I also think the owner is a bit off and has difficulty communicating with parents. She completely screwed up on how someone ought to share an incident report like this. We weren't crazy about her. But the main two teachers were fantastic. I worked near the school and literally saw the kids on a daily basis at the playground or in the windows. I don't believe the report. Our kids adored the teacher as well. It was a great experience and had we not moved our youngest would likely still be attending. |
| Bumping this thread as I am seeking updated feedback on this school - would love to hear the experiences of current or recent parents. |
