You completely missed the point. Decisions are made for people when they don't make their wishes known.

I heard that the problem with the Living Will is "The Nephew from Peoria." No matter what your directive, a pleading relative popping up out of the blue can cause extraordinary measures to be taken because hospital staff get spooked.
