Chest and back pain when breathing deeply

Okay. You convinced me. So, it is Friday afternoon. Do I call now and make an appointment or wait until Monday? I know, I sound stupid. But I am feeling better. If I should still get this checked out, it can wait, right?

Sure, wait, why not? Who cares that it could be something very serious? Hopefully you don't have kids and your spouse doesn't have to explain "if only parent wasn't so stubborn and stupid, they'd still be alive today". I don't get people like you at all

That was really unkind. I hope one day you realize that comments like that say a lot more about you than anyone else. OP - Why not just run by urgent care and let them check you out?

You need to calm down. You are wayyy to caught up in this my dear.

As for Op yeah you need to get this checked out. I understand you may not feel like dealing with doctors, but chest pain is something you don't want to play around with. It could be something getting ready to happen for all you know. I know 4 people that dropped dead from heart attacks suddenly including a former classmate who was only 31. I myself suffered from frequent chest pain so I'm well aware that it can sometimes be nothing. When I started having chest pain I got a full workup from my cardiologist and a CT scan. Luckily it was just chostandritis (probably butchered that), my doctor prescribed me prednisone and it went away.

If you are planning on waiting until MOnday, do not run or exert yourself. Seriously, just don't.

Call your doctor's office now. If its after hours they probably have someone on call. Do not minimize the symptoms when you talk to them. And make sure you mention this started while you were running.

if its going away, could've been gas.

A heart attack is not always like in the movies. It can happen over a few days.
I just lost a good friend to a heart attack just this past Wednesday. Very fit-dropped dead playing basket ball

Urgent care can give you a once over, which should tell you if it's ok to wait until next week. Make the appointment with your PCP for the testing and any further investigation that may be needed.

I had pain in my chest and back when breathing about a year ago. I am also a runner and am in good shape. I spent the day in the er as per my doc's recommendation. The concern was heart attack or blood clot. Apparently it was nothing but my symptoms were taken pretty seriously. Hope you are getting it checked out.
