Working as a runner and phone clerk on the trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange during the early 1980s years of excess and before computers replaced floor traders.

Nothing but frivolous spending, sex, drugs, and wild parties.

I really had a blast during my career as a federal agent. Solved real life mysteries for a living, travelled the world, car chases, etc, etc.

In 1994, I had a job where one aspect was exploring new approaches to data visualization. That meant exploring how the video game technology could be used to help explain what was happening in the earth. Or, in other words, I was paid to play video games all day (Literally).

In 2006 (or was it 2007), I was working at exploring low cost high performance computing for our application, and we bought a series of PS3's, installed linux on them, and used them has $500 super computers. Fun.

I worked at playboy doing web development. The parties were exactly how you'd imagine them to be. It was a pretty awesome time of my life.

It hasn't changed much. I was a runner in 2002. The amount of blow in the place still boggles my mind.

I guided small bicycle tours - both in the US (including cross country a few times) and abroad. I got paid to ride my bike! And carry stuff, set up lunch, serve as an on call shrink, and a thousand other little things. It was a blast, darn near every day.

For 3 months I got to do scuba videography work for the bbc. I literally got paid to scuba dive. That said I got paid next to nothing, but it was fun.

Now I'm a corporate drone

It seriously was. I'm the original 1980s poster - you would walk into the women's bathroom and ladies were snorting coke off the counter tops. The yacht parties on Lake Michigan were insane.
