I've heard and read that Polys can be more of an issue for women than for men because women will overthink the question being asked and hesitate and that will affect their results. Like it'll ask if you've ever cheated on a test and the guy will say no. But the woman will think, "I think once when I was 5 I might have accidentally looked at my friend's answers" and she won't know how to answer.

The SF86 does not ask about antidepressants, only about therapy in the last 10 years.

Gender aside, this is exactly why honest people can and do fail Polys.

Every poly I took went over the questions first, and we discussed why I could not answer No...Usually, they would say they are not interested in that. (for me, it was had I ever stole anything...yes, at 4 I took a pack of gum from safeway; then it was after the age of 10, had I ever taken anything....)
