We get shots. Fwiw, this is the first year the cdc has recommended the mist over the shot...coincidentally, there's a massive shortage of the pediatric shot.

Yes, this is why my three year old got the mist - our pediatrician ran out of the shot. But happy news is that the mist was painless and she had zero reaction to the mist. I also got the mist because my doctor's office ran out of the shot as well and wasn't getting more until November. Didn't want to take my chances. I also had no symptoms following the mist.

+1. This year's push to give mist to 2-8 yo is not about it being the best for them. They are just trying to conserve shots.

How do you go about getting one at cvs? Target? Do you make an appt or just walk up to the pharmacy?

My kids just got the mist too since ped had no shots. My youngest didn't like the sensation so didn't breathe in afterwards, and I hope that's okay and it still worked.
That's not something I had to worry about with the shot.
But they got mist on Monday and no side effects so far.

this. we did the mist one year for my son, then age four i believe, he was sick less than a week later. really sick. i can't prove that it was the mist of course but it hasn't happened since with the following years being the preservative free shot.
