Should we negotiate with Islamic State?

NP here - I have a son who is a soldier. I also say take the fight to them and kill them all. My son agrees.

Nope. The one of age woukd be disqualified due to health issue. They just caught 10 ISIS fighters at our southern border. It's our problem too.

Killing Al Qaida and IS terrorists is NOT a "fools errand. It is national defense and President Obama was right to kill Bin Ladin and othe terrorist leaders. It is sad how quickly some Americans forget 9/11. And given the failure to close our southern border, I would not be surprised if IS manages an attack on US soil.

No one has forgotten 9/11. And I am not against bombing. It is the notion that we can "kill them all". It is plainly obvious that we cannot wipe out an entire fighting force in this terrain, in this region. The two most powerful armies in the world have already tried and failed.

Our best option is to make sure that the Sunni population at large is represented in Iraqi government. If that is true, ISIS will find it hard to operate there.
