OP here. Thanks! Keep the suggestions coming.
She's in elementary school so no way of refrigerating perishable snacks. I've tried using a small ice pack system but their snack isn't until closer to 3pm and my daughter goes to before care, so it's not like her food comes straight from the fridge to school. Also confusing b/c the teacher has asked parents to send enough snack in so that they can sometimes do twice a day snack, but she won't tell us the days she's doing it so hard to know how much to send in. |
| Kale chips are messy--crumbs everywhere |
You need to ask the teacher for clarification. When my kids were in elementary public, we were asked to send in snacks individually wrapped for the entire class. So you can find potato chips, chocolate chips, popcorn, pretzels, etc. Kashi Fruit Bars: https://www.kashi.com/our-foods/snack-bars/kashi-cereal-bars-ripe-strawberry Cheddar Cheese Pretzels: http://www.snydersofhanover.com/products/pretzel-sandwiches/cheddar-cheese.html |

dried fruit
bagged fresh cut fruit small apples or bananas or clementines baby carrots hummus crackers/pretzels/goldfish/chips/popcorn cereal rice crispie treats (yum!) bagels & cream cheese seaweed kale chips (I know, but my kids love seaweed & these!!) cheese & crackers- or those plastic packs with the fake cheese & red plastic spreader granola bars cereal bars/fiber one type bars |
| Pita sandwich wedges. I buy heritage ham (faux) frozen at the Potomac ABC. It's highly addictive. Just put the meat in the fridge overnight and it thaws. |
OP here. Snacks are definitely for each kid to bring in for themselves- not group snacks. |
