When are grocery stores less crowded?

If it's a 24 hour grocery store, go about 3am-4am.

Sunday morning 9 am. Perfect!

I've noticed that the Georgetown Safeway is relatively empty on Tuesday evenings. Weird, because everywhere in the city is always mobbed... so annoying. Anyway, that's when I try to go.

Week day early morning - before 10 am. If you go to WF at 8, 9 am it will be a paradise!

Early mornings or during the Redskins game. But during it - not right before or right after. I was buying groceries once, and the cashier made a comment that the game was almost over and they would be swamped.

I always shop at about 10am on Tuesday mornings. The stores are almost empty. You couldn't drag me into a grocery store on a weekday evening or a weekend.

I used to work in a grocery store and you are 100% correct. During the Super Bowl, we were DEAD. Literally no one shopping. Then a HUGE rush at half time...then dead again.

Not Friday afternoon. That seems to be retirement home shopping time. Early mornings seem to be the best times. Late evenings mean fewer crowds but I find the shelves to be emptier so sometimes I can't get all the items on my list.

I love me some early morning weekday grocery shopping! The only good thing about being unemployed a while back was the joy of shopping in a completely empty store with employees who were still early enough in their day to not be angry at the world!
