The last two years, we've given a Beanie Boo related to the party theme. The kids loved it.

Food, as in cookie or candy. Something that can be eaten on the way home so it never enters my house.

Why are kids getting stuff at a birthday party for another kid? You get stuff at your own birthday.

A $5 gift card to the local froyo joint, $5 gift card to 5 Below, a craft (from Oriental Trading), a bowling alley t-shirt, frame to put group party pic in, lip gloss/nail polish, fun pens/pencils/erasers/locker magnets/backpack keychains, individually-wrapped bowling pin shaped cookie, personalized plastic straw cup, friendship necklaces, DIY cooking kit-- s'mores, hot cocoa, etc....

No goody bags please. We are all drowning in junk. All the pp's who are saying candy bars - what? Huh? You really want your kids to eat all this junk? Cake and ice cream is more than enough sugar.
