Best Jack Daniel's Whiskey label?

This is OP...love learning all this! I'm now leaning toward Gentleman Jack. Any additional advice will be much appreciated!

I've always loved JD. I don't like scotch at all.

If your friend likes any JD, then just get whichever is in your price range. I personally like the original more than Gentleman Jack, but seems like your friend would be happy regardless of which you pick.

+1 for the MCarthy's Oregon Single Malt. Actually anything from Clear Creek, especially if you are into grappa/ eau de vie/ fruit brandy.

As for the Jack selections, I would try the Jack Daniels Single Barrel.

Well, scotch and whiskey are essentially the same, only scotch is from a place called Scotland. Otherwise it is known (in Ireland, America, etc.) as whiskey. There are some other differences in terms of what is being fermented, for how long, and filtration, but it is mostly a geographic distinction.

I tried to type some words and then I just turned to the bottle of single malt and took a big swig because I. just. can't. with. this.

Get your friend a gift card to a liquor store and have him pick it out. Then there wouldn't be this DCUM craziness
